I have a second-hand Schiit Modi DAC which is not recognised by my Raspberry Pi 2. The DAC’s LED shines but that’s all; I cannot see it in the Audio Device settings, or in output of “aplay -l” . Any thoughts/hints?

Just tested volume with some nubert nuPro Loudspeakers. (http://www.nubert.de/nupro-serie-neu/420/ ) They have a DAC (TI BurrBrown) inside and can be connected directly via USB. They work perfect and are recognized by volumio. The sad thing is, when I switch off the loudspeakers (and the DAC) and turn it on again, the DAC can not be used further. mpd.log just contains: ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1401:(_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card
