Here is my RaspyFi setup:

It sounds great and I am very happy with it!
Most played album right now is: Something Fierce by Marian Call.

Part list:
- Raspberry Pi, 512 MB
- 5V power supply
- 16 GB SD-card
- Adafruit 16x2 LCD Plate
- NuForce uDAC 2
- Network Cable
- Sennheiser HD598
- Case (e.g. Adafruit Pi Box or similar)

The LCD Plate features:
- Presentation of play mode (playing/paused/stopped), Artist and Song name scrolling on line 1
- The elapsed song time, total song time and percentage of song played on line 2.
- Left button: Skip back in current playlist
- Right button: Skip forward back in current playlist
- Up button: Play
- Down button: Stop
- Select button: Toggle Play/Pause

Yes, I wrote a small python-script that act as an interface between mpd and the LCD display. I have a tutorial with all code on my blog at: http://didtheypush.blogspot.se…..plate.html

I have just written a very intense installation instruction for the installation of
* RaspyFi on Adafruit PiPlate,
*Using HDMI or Analog Out,
*Changing your code to suite a better environment.

I've just seen this topic, I also wrote a quick python script to operate Adafruit LCD. I don't have text scrolling yet as you do. However i've added playlist selection : https://github.com/jotak/jopi-mpd

Nice peace of work.

Using it on Volumio

But…

If the song played is longer than 9 minutes and 59 seconds an error occurs.

File "/home/pi/display/showSongInfo.py", line 65, in
time = statusLines[1].split(' ',1)[1].strip()
IndexError: list index out of range

Could you take a look at it?

I have written an updated R.U.Sirius's script(s) with an option to run as a service. The problem with <10min and once fixed <100min have also been fixed. Also added the VOL in the display

I am now in the process of expanding the front-end to drop the SONG NAME and replace with the RADIO STATION NAME if there is no SONG INFO given…

Have a look at http://aubreykloppers.wordpress.com and you will see how it works and some nice scripts added
