Hey great job on the project,

I've been looking for a dedicated music streamer to replace an xbmc box and your project is looking good. Just a few suggestions.

Is it possible to bitstream the audio out the hdmi and let my receiver handle the conversion?

and as others have said ALAC support

Yes, it's possible indeed. To use HDMI output on Raspberry Pi, instead of the analog jack just type (in SSH)

amixer cset numid=3 2

sudo amixer cset numid=3 2

(without a USB DAC plugged in )

Next version of RaspyFi will support ALAC. You can use the 1.0 beta, which has ALAC support!

This works -thanks. Is it anyway, we can execute these commands at startup? Currently, we need to execute them manually everytime Rpi boots. Thanks
