I have put a couple of lines into /etc/rc.local to run at startup to python scripts to check radio stations, but every time I reboot the Pi the rc.local file is overwritten with the original and I lose my additions. Even if I change the permissions to prevent writing this happens. Is there any way to stop this. Alternatively is there another file I could put the instructions in to run at boot? Thanks, Chris
Hi Chrisr, this happens because RaspyFi features a control on edited files, in order to keep system clean.
If you need to change something you have also to change the correspondent file in
/var/www/_OS_SETTINGS/
so, edit the file you need and
cp /etc/rc.local /var/www/_OS_SETTINGS/etc/rc.local
And you're good to go!
