The Rapyfi playback is really great but I find that my two sound cards have more treble when listening from a PC with foobar 2000, wasapi and no DSP.
Of course this is just something that I hear, I've no tool to measure it.
I drive the tests with a HifiMeDiy Sabre USB DAC receiver TE7022 and a cambridge audio dac magic 100.
The actual workaround is to set the treble on the amplifier.
The idea of using an equalizer is also to some extent against the idea of RaspyFi being an audiophile player, but in this case it would be a nice solution to have a digital compensation of the speaker frequency response. Using a 'good parametric EQ' the result could also be quite ok.
I have done some first attempts to setup an equalizer in alsamixer (libasound2-plugin-equal), but with no real success (main problem being that the RaspyFi mpd player doesn't seem to play through the EQ. Have seen an other user having the same problem).
In theory there should be possibilities to setup various equalizer plugins via alsamixer / ladspa - but it seems to require a bit of time and learning to get it right.
Anyone that have tried this before and can judge on the probability of success?
Could a simple parametric EQ (e.g. a couple of shelves and notches) be a future feature in RaspyFi?
