Hi everyone,
I'm trying to follow the wifi tutorial, but I get stuck because wicd-curses says "no wireless networks detected".
The thing is, "iwlist wlan0 scan" does find a few.
Any idea?
Thanks!
S.
THanks for the quick reply.
I just downlaoded and installed 1.0. Looks nice, great work!
2 issues so far. I'm connected through ethernet and (trying to) wifi.
1) NAS doesnt mount. On my windows machine it's on 192.168.2.1/volume1. All I get is a red cross. it's large, but I dont see any progress indicator for anything that could be going on.
2) Wifi still doesnt work. I tried entering the SSID, encryption and password, but nothing happens when I click save changes.
Any ideas?
cheers
Hello,
I also just downloaded RaspyFi V1.0.
Nice job !
But I encoutered some problems :
1- Connexion on NAS is not reliable. I have to try many times to configure NAS connexion on WebUI and it often remains with a red cross ! I could only connect to NAS 2 times.
2- Once connected to NAS (Synology DS409+ v4.2) I can access database and play music but there are some glitches sometimes (not very often). I use a Lavry DA11 DAC through USB.
You can put in the supported DAC section that this DAC works with 24 bits 96Khz files but I can't check if the sampling rate and bit depth are converted or not (bitperfect) by the Raspberry Pi. Hardware mix doesn't seem to work. How can I reliably check those functions ?
3- I can't have the WIFI Dongle set up ! I know my dongle (TRENDNET TEW-648UBM) works with Raspbmc (already checked) but when I try to set it up with RaspyFi WebUI nothing works (no IP address attributed to WIFI only get one to ETHERNET connexion).
Any ideas to help me get rid of those issues ?
Many thanks in advance and congratulations for this marvelous work !!!
Really !

Hello,
it also does not work for me.
No wlan devices were found (both are working on raspyfi beta before).
LogiLink WL-0049A
TP-Link TL-WN721N
Please give a hint!

Try to configure static ethernet ip, and see if wlan interfaces are shown
this worked for me. (connected to the specified SSID)
First, I have to say that the WIFI configuration boxes on Raspyfi WebUI appear only one time when we first configure RaspyFi !
Then it disappears and the "SAVE CHANGES" button also !
By ressetting the Network configuration, I could get the WIFI configuration UI and "SAVE CHANGES" button again.
By configuring ethenet satic IP, I could not make my WIFI connection work !
SSID, Security (no security) and password (no password) were set but i can not have WIFI to coonect to my WIFI Access Point !
Any Idea ?

Hello,
the static eth0 does also not work for me.
There is no module loaded for the atheros chip (ath9k_htc).
So there is no wifi possible at the moment with raspyFi 1.0?

Ok, let's see if we can get it working:
Connect via SSH
type
sudo apt-get update
and then
sudo apt-get install firmware-atheros
Reboot and retry the configuration, let me know!
Hello,
I tried it again with the firmware-atheros installed but no module for the wlan stick was started.
Maybe I could try a modprobe ath9k_htc. I will tell you what happens.

Please report your working and NOT WORKING wi-fi dongle in this thread, so we can address the Issue:

I managed to get this working with the ath9k_htc module. I had to downgrade the kernel though.
sudo rpi-update 5ea0f44b673eaa52c578fcd6480495f19cd53d97
