Hi,

I just installed RaspyFi and it is superb for music playback. Much smoother playback comparing to RaspBMC with AudioEngine. However, I need some EQ to solve the room resonance problem and followed the instructions in http://crunchbanglinux.org/wik…../howto/mpd .

Sadly, I only get "ERROR: problems opening audio device" and I already checked that mpd is in the audio group. Can someone give me some advice where to look at?

Eventually, I did a strange work around. I followed the tutorial for software crossover to insert filter stages using ecasound. It involves recompile the mpd with --enable-pipe-output and install rt-plugins. The RTparaeq simply works for my room resonance problem. However, this approach lacks the capability to tune the EQ on the fly as alsaequal.
