Hi guys
When I use this version or the previous beta version with a zero DAC or ATC DAC I get constant (1-2 times/sec)popping or skipping like sound on NAS 44.1 playback. However the original version of Raspyfi, works fine with no audio disturbance.
I have tried a couple of alternate kernel profiles as well as buffer size but get the same result.
Any ideas on why the original version works fine?
PS NAS is SMB Ubuntu server which works fine with approx 5 media players on the wired network. The Raspyfi is wired lan too.

Ok I did some more testing. I used a USB stick with FLAC files and disconnected all NAS shares. This works fine with no popping. So I then added a NAS share and whilst the database is building the USB stick as the same skipping/popping sound. So this is looking more like an overload with the database update running whilst playing files. Sorry, probably down to being impatient !
Since the NAS music collection is 1000,s of CD's I will leave it going overnight and see if the fault clears when the database is fully setup.
Whilst I can undertand bus congestion could cause the problem , why is this not a problem on the original RaspyFi?
I've never been able to get wifi to work with Raspyfi. I have a Ralink RT5370 usb stick that works fine with Openelec, but it's not recognised with Raspyfi in the web interface. It just says: NO INTERFACE PRESENT
Any ideas? One solution would be powerline adapters via the ethernet port, but that's a 20 Euro solution!

First of all, thank you very much for the great work.
Problem is
RaspyFi 1.0 won't boot on one of my two Raspberry Pi's.
With this R-Pi (board rev. 1320 with Micron RAM chip), when power up,
red PWR light stays on, green ACT light blinks once,
then nothing happens after that.
No message appears on HDMI display.
However if the SD card is inserted to the other R-Pi (board rev. 1317),
it works fine.
I have tried three different makes of SD cards, they are all the same
(Sandisk ExtremeIII 8GB, Toshiba (10) 8GB, Transcend 150x 2GB).
I have also swapped with three power adapters (5V 1A).
No USB devices are connected.
However the faulty R-Pi board(1320) works fine with Raspbian
(5-15 and 7-26 versions).
Do you have any advice what to do next ?
Best regards
P.S.
RaspyFi works fine with my DAC (Luxman DA-100) at 24/96 using WiFi.
Thank you.
Hello, it could be a kernel issue… RaspyFi relies on a slightly modified kernel…
You can try replacing raspyfi's kernel with the one on raspbian.
To do so:
replace all the files on the fat32 part of the SD
replace the files in /lib/modules with the one of raspbian.
Let me know!

Hi guys, I like the 1.0 version a lot, the web GUI is really great!
The problem I have is that I cannot change the volume in the web GUI. I have tried this for both webradio and playing from usb.
I have a scarlett focusrite 2i2 DAC, raspberry pi model B. Changing the volume does work when I use mopidy (different SD card), and I think it worked in the previous version of raspyfi as well.
That's not a bug, you have to activate it
go to mpd settings -> volume -> hardware mixer
then save
if it doesn't work, use software mixer

RE: RaspyFi 1.0 won't boot on one of my two Raspberry Pi's.
Dear Admin,
Thank you for the swift reply.
I replaced the files on the fat32 part with Raspbian 7-26 version in Windows.
I replaced the files in /lib/modules, i.e. 3.8.12+ folder with 3.6.11+ folder in Raspbian.
I logged in LXDE as root and deleted 3.8.12+ in USB SD card reader, then copied 3.6.11+ files.
However the SD card did not work with either R-Pi(board rev1317) or R-Pi(board rev1320).
Did I make a mistake?
Best regards

Need a little help here! Beta 1.0 worked perfectly but this final 1.0 won't even boot, I'm just stuck with a red PWR LED
Same problem as Tanaka.
Any help is gratefully received!! Many thanks guys!
What a great webui! That is a major improvement.
I am using Raspyfi since RC2 ANC beta1 with a Synology NAS and a Topping TP-30 USB DAC and Amp. The sound was great but now with 1.0, I am experiencing crackles and noise while playing music (over ethernet).
Also once the database was initialized. Any idea what had been changed with 1.0 what can be causing this?
Thanks

Did the database update finish?
Yes.
I saw the post from andynz so I waited for the update to finish.
Just testes it again, same issue
I have changed the Buffer before play from 20% tot 0%, without results.
Hello,
I found a bug :
With RaspyFi 1.0 and a NAS Synology, if I move a song (file) from a directory to another, when the player tries to play this song (disappeared from its original directory), RaspyFi seems to freeze.
I have to unplug and replug the power supply to restart it.
Pinpon
Another one :
When playing flac files, bit rate is sometimes wrong (0kbit/s displayed).
When playing 24bits/44.1KHz wave file, the bit depth displayed is 32 bits !

Thanks to the blueberry's message dated 10 September 2013 19:31 on "RaspyFi won't boot",
my R-Pi (board rev. 1320) worked !!
Perfect !

Am I the only one who cannot save network settings if I change from DHCP to static ?
/Chrisitan
I am also having issues with the webgui, it it very laggy/buggy and does not load the network settings page properly, there are no wireless options until I reset to default and then it will not save wireless or static settings.
I have tried several different SD cards & my psu is from my Nexus 4 (decent enough?)
Just a polishing up thing.
When browsing lists to play, we can click the symbol to the right to see the options "Add", "Add and play" and so on – but when clicking on items at the very bottom of the list I can only see the top of the pop-up thing. So I can't reach "Add, replace and play" for example.
Thanks for the fantastic work!
