When updating the MPD database, the process comes to a halt after scanning a few dozen folders on my NAS. There is no error message in mpd.log, only a list of music files that have been succesfully added to the database.
There must be some folder/file that makes MPD choke, but I cannot see which one, because the folder scanning process is executed in (for me) some randomly order.
Is there a way to make MPD write more debugging info to the log file? I would like to see which file/folder is causing the troubles.
Ah, I just remembered from another tread in this forum:
"We figured out that there's a bug in mpd, when it updates the db when it founds certain tag types in some files, it hangs, taking cpu usage at 100% and taking hours to complete the db update. We found out that removing the FFMPEG option from the update process, it works flawlessly.. .It will be included in next release, which is coming soon and basically represents a bugfix version of 1.0"
Is there a way that I can remove this "FFMPEG option" myself, or do I have to wait for the next version?
BTW: will there be a next version coming soon?
I experienced the same problem but then with an external hdd instead of a NAS. I'm also curious if we're able to remove this FFMPEG option, and if so, where?
