Hi,
I'm new in the Raspberry world and I started by installing RaspyFi.
It works very well!
Now, I just want to link my Raspberry to my amplifier (Pioneer VSX-527).
Is there a way to link it without an USB DAC? Directly by the HDMI?
My amplifier has already a DAC 192/24 and I would like to avoid any extra purchase if possible.
I've already tried to force to use the HDMI output by typing "amixer cset numid=3 2" in root, but it didn't worked.
Any idea?
Thank you.

I have a Marantz 7701 preamplifier and sound through hdmi worked out of the box.
However as you can see in another post http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/r…..z-on-hdmi/
it "only" plays at 48kHz through hdmi.
Could it be
* setting in your amplifier
* does yout amplifier support audio via hdmi
* does the cable support audio via hdmi
I'm not skilled in theese areas so I probably can't help you further, but …

Hi!
For me hdmi audio worked out of the box – no change in pi required.
I'm not skilled in the area but
* does your amp support audio via hdmi
* setting in the amp (source)In my amp I can set differnt audio inputs (hdmi/spdif/..) per source
* does your cable support audio via hdmi
Also fyi there is a post about another aspect for hdmi http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/r…..z-on-hdmi/
Hope this helps
