And it would be helpful to have the revision number of your R-pi as the different versions had a little change on the usb port rev 2 should give more power to the connected devices than rev1

this is some kind of "off topic"... I bought a USB mic (Mc Crypt EM-7U USB) to record (and stream) audio - like a babyphone does.

The setup:

- Raspberry Pi with most actual version of raspyfi
- Mc Crypt EM-7U USB
- Edimax EW-7811Un WLAN

All this works fine. The audio is recorded and streamed but the quality of the recorded audio is waste as you can hear here:

What I checked:

- The USB mic works great on Mac and Windows. So it's not damaged.
- I chose a longer USB-cable to have the microphone in a longer distance to the raspberry. Same result. :-(
- I chose a different power supply and even a battery pack. Same result. :-(
- I started with a different OS (wheezy raspbian). Same result. :-(
- I configured the USB ports to USB 1.1. Same result. :-(
- I tried different "Fix USB audio...." hints. Always still the same results :-(

- I chose a LAN cable instead of WLAN. Same results. :-(

Does anyone have an idea what I could try next? Or does anyone also have problems with this device? (I found an article where one used it without problems on a raspberry).

Thank you so much for your help.

Greetings from Berlin.
Christian
