I have the exact same problem with my RT-N56U running 'Padavan' custom firmware https://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/

I can't get Volumio to connect to my HDD attached to the router, it says that the mount is 'read-only'
This is the exact message: 'mount: cannot mount block device //192.168.1.1/xxx/xxx/xxx read-only'

I have tried a lot of different approaches so far, but no joy!

I can access the HDD from Win 7 and my other R-Pi running Raspbmc, with no problem at all.
