It seems the Tascam US-122 is not compatible, at least not out-of-the-box.
What I tried is to follow the instructions on http://alsa.opensrc.org/Tascam…..and_Ubuntu.
It seems the firmware loads nicely since before lsusb outputs (note the "without fw"):

Bus 001 Device 007: ID 1604:8006 Tascam US-122 Audio/Midi Interface (without fw)

while afterwards I get

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 1604:8007 Tascam US-122 Audio/Midi Interface

Note though that the device ID goes up (maybe that's OK though).

However, the problem is when I try to start up the card with usx2yloader which outputs:

usx2yloader: no US-X2Y-compatible cards found

I also tried

ln -s /usr/share/alsa/firmware/usx2yloader /lib/firmware/usx2yloader

But I get the same result when loading usx2yloader.

Note that I also have:

[email protected]:/sbin$ ./modinfo soundcore
ERROR: Module soundcore not found.

It was suggested at http://www.raspberrypi.org/php…..38;t=51834 that soundcore in the kernel is needed in order to load the snd-usb-usx2y modules.

Have some of you suggestions to get the card running? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue with my Cubieboard2. I'm working on it as we speak… I'll post any findings!

Edit: I have been testing for a while now, I have tried 2 distros and I am still having the same problem on the cubieboard2 getting usx2yloader to start the tascam. The device changing seems to be the issue but I noticed when i installed the tascam on my ubuntu box, using the same guide and process, after fxloading the firmware the device changed and increased by 1. but when I ran usx2yloader, the tascam light turned green!

I really don't get it, ive been trying for months… One thing i learned that could help someone. if you are powering your board with usb, the tascam will not power on! usb uses 500mA max and the tascam requires 500mA. This also applies with laptop hard drives. I used my samsung galaxy phone charger which is 5v 2A and my laptop hard drive now works fine… now to just figure out why the device keeps changing and im set!!!
