Wanna share my finding here, I'm using the following tubes Dac MP-D1 by Musical Paradise, which is using Xmos chips

I'm using the SynologyY Disk Station as storage and source of my music library.

After installed the PI, there are crackling sound in between tracks which same as the Audio Station of Synology Disk Station did. At the beginning I thought it was the problem of hardware compatibility.

However, when I install the MPD directly to the Synology Disk Station, the crackling sound gone!! But the sound from PI definitely much better then the MPD on Disk Station.

See if that information useful for you guys to modify the PI to tackle the crackling sound.
