HifiMeDiy Sabre USB DAC with the SA9023 usb receiver works with hardware mixing.

Another Aune T1 up and running. Music files are hosted on a 750GB USB NTFS (self powered) disk drive. All is apparently working just fine. No clicks, pops, or anything of that nature.
The Aune is feeding a Bottlehead tube amp, and the sound is superb.

Just tested the Yulong Sabre DA8 and it works fine expert I get clicks and pops when playing high bitrate (ie. 24bit 96k or higher, dsd). I have not test 24bit 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k yet and hope this will be improved in the next release.
However, I can not get my audiolab m-dac working properly even with 16bit mp3. The screen displays flushing the buffer all the time.
So from my understanding, the DACs using amanero usb should be fine with raspyfi.

No sound out of Raspyfi, any advice? I don't think it does 24bit so maybe that is the issue? In /etc/mpd.conf I added the line #format “44100:16:2″ but in Raspyfi it still says 24bit instead of 16 bit. Also, it's a bit odd that the device is showing up twice (hw:0,0 and hw:0,1).

Epiphany Acoustics E-DAC works perfectly.
Raspberry Pi powered from 4 port USB hub which also has hard drive and Wi-Fi adapter connected. DAC is connected into my Rotel RA1062 integrated amplifier driving B&W CM1 speakers and its better than my CD player! I took apart an old Pioneer analogue TV DVD recorder and mounted the Pi, hard drive, DAC and USB hub into its case so it blends with rest of my hifi gear.
I can report that the PCM2704 USB DAC works perfectly on RaspyFi. I purchased a board from AliExpress for about $10 and it works as advertised and Hardware Volume Control is supported. I haven't tried its fiber optic connection but analogue output is just fine.
I picked up a cheap dac from China – PCM2704 @ aliexpress.com.
Worked out approx 10eur shipped to EU.
Worked without any extra config, so I would recommend it for those trying to keep costs down.

Steelseries USB soundcard. That is the actual name, works with hardware volume mixer, makes the sound louder cant say much about performance I've never been an audiophile. The soundcard came with my 5Hv2-USB headset.

Okay, I take it back about it sounding better than my old CD player (actually a Rotel RDV-1060 DVD player)! I think I must have just been too excited at getting RapsyFi working. It's definitely the DAC that doesn't measure up though as I've also tried it on a Windows 8 PC and with different cables. Oh well, back to looking for the perfect DAC as RaspyFi is great, simple to use via the web interface and so convenient to have all my music easily accessible.

first of all thanks for making Raspyfi, it's great!
I'd like to share my results with the 2 USB DAC I have at home.
First EMU 0404 USB, The DAC is a AK4396, USB chip unknown. No HW control. On paper a async USB capable device, in practice that's only true on Windows , same for Max Res, on paper it's supposed to deliver 192kHz, but in reality it is stuck to 44.1Hz at 16bit and 24bit.
Anyway for files that stick to the Red book, it sounds great!!! I'm rediscovering my collection (anyway 90% of it is encoded at 16/44)
Yesterday I've received a new USB DAC, that was chosen based on the articles I've read here and elsewhere. I don't think it's on the DAC compatibility list yet, but a similar one is. I got it on ebay: "XMOS 384K/32bit PCM5102 DAC USB to Fiber Coax RCA Jack USB power LCM"
Though it's still burning in, so I cannot comment on sound quality yet, I've already run a few test. I can confirm that it works at the following specs:
16/44 , 16/48, 24/48, 24/88, 24/96, 1?/384 (it's a dsd file)
tonight I'll be testing pink floyd at 24/192
Unfortunately I have nothing at 32bit…
I have just got RaspyFi working with my Aqua Acoustic Quality La Voce DAC (http://www.aquahifi.com/la_voce.html). It seems to work well so far with internet radio and USB drive as sources.

Hi!
Has anyone tried the new Nuforce udac 3, and got it working with the pi? I'm not yet into all of the technical stuff, but I'm thinking about buying either that or the udac 2. Can anyone think of any reason that the udac 3 wouldnt work?
Regards

Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 … OK
- AirPlay ok
- no hardware mixer (well, I prefer none)
The only issue so far was that MPD audio_output config did not work OOTB so I commented that whole section in mpd.conf and MPD is smart enough to search for an output device and that worked. So…
- MPD sources webradio and USB files, tried also flac 24 bit /192000 Hz, ok

Raspify 1.0 works great with CM102 USB DAC. No extra configuration needed.
This tube kit for headphone is very good and cheaper, also can be used as a tube preamp or only DAC: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Assemb…..0892292439
The DAC can menage frequecies up to 44.1khz 16 or 24 bit.

Hi guys,
TEAC AI501-DA works out of the box, playing regular 44,1kHz files, no tried yet for superior files.

Hardware mixing not working.
Cheers,
