Thanks

I’m currently studying how to feed a dac directly via i2s from the pi. Let’s say I’m at 90%… I will post a tutorial soon. Let me know about your progress, we can share them and publish something really interesting!

I am very interested in the subject because I want to build a Raspy based music player that includes a DAC, using I2S and UPnP. Ideally using the ohMedia framework. Perhaps also adding a T-amp.

For I2S you may get some inspiration from http://hifiduino.blogspot.com.

For the DAC I would be interested to use a DAC from http://www.twistedpear.com, perhaps to start with the OPUS DAC but eventually using the Buffalo DAC.

I am also interested in the powers supply.

RaspyFi seems an interesting approach and I am currently trying to get it working.

I’d love to try raspify’s I2S output with this kind of DAC : http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/digital/buffalose.aspx
I strongly believe in minimalism when it comes to electricity and audio (currently using DIY Alix/Mpd based player, great sound, great transparency).
